September 15 was our annual powder puff game between the seniors and the juniors at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. After a brutal game, the seniors celebrated a large victory of 22-6. I interviewed a few of the junior players and they said it was harder than they expected. "Some girls were a bit rougher than I thought they'd be," says Rachel Bown, "But it was fun. It was exciting to play with friends."
Some of the juniors took it quite seriously, and were upset about the loss. However, it's all in good fun. "It would have been a lot better if our coaches would have talked more, and stopped trying to control everything." Erin Wentzien said.
After the game one of the many coaches, Paul Chamberlain said, "All right, practice for next year starts tomorrow." All in all it was a good game and everybody had fun except being sore afterwards.
