Brett Medhus invites the public to attend a Grand opening at his new business, Medhus Chiropractic, located at 301 Blackhawk St.

Lincoln Savings Bank raises money for terrorists victims by taking donations through the Red Cross.

Reinbeck Elementary School donates proceeds to relief workers in New York City. This month (Sept.) $162 was donated.

Cody Roberts and Jon M. Bystricky, both of Reinbeck, were married on July 21 at the United Church of Christ.

Tracey Royer is selected as Employee of the Month at Parkview Manor where she has worked over 2 years.

Evelyn Harrison, Traer, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Oct. 7 with an open house.

Ambrose M. Foley, died Sept. 27 at his home.

Vincent Sienknecht, 88, Gladbrook, died Sept. 29 at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook.

Frank Meyeraan, Jr., 62, Wellsburg, died Sept. 25 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

Martha Gutknecht Claussen, 94, passed away on Sept. 29 in Ogden, Utah.

James L. Juhl, 60, Independence, died Sept. 30 at University of Iowa Hospital after an accidental fall.

NOV. 5, 1981

Flossie Creswell, 87, died Oct. 24 at Sartori Hospital. Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Dike on Oct. 26.

Harry Lage, 86, Gladbrook died Oct. 23 at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Funeral services were held Oct. 25 at Peace United Church of Christ.

Jennifer L. Bowers and Ricky Stoner were united in marriage on Aug. 10 at the New Life Church in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Craig Thede are parents of a son born Oct. 22.

Mr. & Mrs. Vincent Moye are parents of a son born Oct. 21.

Emma Creswell will observe her 99th birthday on Nov. 5.

30 YEARS AGO

Reinbeck electors turned out in record numbers to cast their ballots for new mayor, three new members on the city council and approve a 25 year television franchise. Lon Larsen is the new mayor, defeating incumbent Mark Nash.

Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Niederman, will observe their 35th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7 with a dance at the Amvet Hall in Lincoln.

Mr. & Mrs. James Pedersen of Hudson will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7 with a Mass, an open house and buffet supper followed by a dance.

William H. Sager, 56, Grundy Center died on Nov. 3 at the Grundy Co. Hospital.

Emil Wiese, 92, Gladbrook, passed away Nov. 2 at his home and services were held Nov. 5 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook.

Reinbeck High School will present "South Pacific" on Nov. 6 & 7.

NOV. 4, 1971

Only 314 ballots were cast on Nov. 2 in the Municipal election for mayor, council and park board. Incumbent mayor, James Westergaard received 213 votes, winning over his opponent, Fred Willer.

Mrs. Emma Byrnes of rural Reinbeck, was the winner of $1,000 in the bankroll drawing at Ernie's Super Valu.

Cheryl Larsen and Roger Harms exchanged marriage vows Oct. 23 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

Bill Bowen's all new barber shop on Main St. is finished and will open for business.

Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Russell, 50, Traer, died at Schoitz Hospital on Oct. 28.

The Father & Son Banquet sponsored by Reinbeck's Athletic booster club will be held Nov. 9 at the Memorial Building.

Eugene Cavanaugh, 62, died Nov. 1 at Schoitz hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Fred Harm will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Nov. 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Niedermann will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 6.

NOV. 1961

Vina Needham, 72, Morrison, died Oct. 27.

Wayne Morrison, 74, Grundy Center, died Oct. 30.

Oscar Jensen, 46, Voorhies, Elvin Danielsen, 33, Traer and Ron Mastain, 27, Reinbeck, plead guilty to shooting too many geese and paid a fine of $100 each.

Mr. & Mrs. Lee Petersen are parents of a son born Oct. 28.

Roberta Meyer. a senior at Iowa State, daughter of Rev. & Mrs. C.G. Meyer was crowned 1961 homecoming queen at Iowa State University in Ames.

Kaye Schelling, Reinbeck, and David Abels, Grundy Center, were united in marriage on Oct. 27.

Reinbeck Rams defeated St. College High 6-0 last Friday night.

60 YEARS AGO

NOV. 1951

Reinbeck barbers are announcing that the price of haircuts will be raised to $1.00 on Nov. 1.

Mr. & Mrs. Ed Sieh are parents of a son born Oct. 30.

Marcella Erland of Newhall became the bride of Russell Willer on Oct. 30.

70 YEARS AGO

NOV. 1941

Five turkeys to be given away by Reinbeck Commercial Club on Nov. 19 and Nov. 26.

John Strohbehn's new house north of Reinbeck is nearing completion.

The foundation has been erected for C.K. Robinson's new house.

NOV. 1931

Mamie Wittgreve and Harold Fogt were united in marriage on Nov. 4.

George Sibert, 64, early businessman in Reinbeck, died Oct. 29.

Mr. & Mrs. Harris Porter are parents of a son born Nov. 2.

The farm home of O.R. Hook was destroyed by fire, estimated loss at $6,000.
