Fog causes accident and fire at the corner of Hwy 175 and 63 on Sept. 29. Robert Parrish, 49, Union, failed to yield at a stop sign and Lawrence Koppes, Dyersville, struck Parrish's vehicle which caught on fire and reported as a total loss. Neither driver suffered major injuries.
Chris Linder & Jennifer Billerbeck were named King & Queen at Homecoming.
Duane Akers, 41, Marshalltown, was killed on Sept. 19 in an accident at a corn elevator in Conrad.
John Duncan and Janelle Segelberg were married on Sept. 15 in St. Elmo, Colo.
Kimberly Sweet and Matthew Anderson were married on June 30 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

Robert Hoffman has purchased the home of Ann Wieben at 609 Clark St. for $21,500.
The first snow of the season fell on Sat. Oct. 24 as predicted by the Farmers Almanac.

Harold Plaehn of Reinbeck, will begin hauling garbage on Nov. 1. Plaehn has a contract with the city for a fee of $756 per month, with the city doing all the billing and collection of fees.

Mr. & Mrs. Vern Schildroth are parents of a son born Oct. 20.

Mr. & Mrs. Paul Wieck, II, are parents of a son born Oct. 1.
Chandra Smith, 9 month old daughter of Mr & Mrs. Gary D. Smith of Holland, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
Reinbeck Town Council is meeting in special session, voted to adopt a comprehensive plan for the town's waste treatment system. David Fox presented the plan and recommendations to update the treatment plant at the present site at an estimated construction cost of $146,000.

Ernest Lampe, 69, died Oct. 22 at a Waterloo hospital.
Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. start to erect new substation on two acres acquired from Clarence Claussen. The light company will spend over $200,000 on the installation.
Kaye Schelling and David Abels were united in marriage on Oct. 27.
Mr. & Mrs. Dale Johnson of Greene, are parents of a daughter born Oct. 24.
Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Hook of Grundy Center, are parents of a daughter born Oct. 23.
Herb Boomer, Dike, and Annette Fournier, Waterloo, were married in Sept.

Edna Moser was united in marriage to John Zug of Des Moines on Oct. 18.
The residence of Fritz Linder, 85, on south Black Hawk is over 60 years old and three families have lived in it, yet a child has never been born in this house. It was built by Steve Bradley, an early day stock buyer, also dealt in the lumber business with Sandy Mitchell. Bradley sold the house to Allan Sloss and in 1911, sold it to Linder.
Emil Sieh of Waterloo sells his 120 acre farm to Charles Parish of Cedar Falls for $140 an acre. Parish now has a half-section of land.
Three cases of scarlet fever have been reported in Reinbeck. They are Joyce Claussen, Leroy Strohbehn and Welly Poland.
Adolph Mordhorst, 64, Shell, formerly of Reinbeck, died Oct. 17.
Harry Mason, 53, formerly of Reinbeck, died Oct. 23.
Lester Linder stationed at Fort Still, Okla. lost an eye and a finger and suffered burns and lacerations when a shell exploded in his arms.
Arthur Collins, 47, Alfred Reed, 31, and Edward Dingle, 32, were killed when the car crashed into a railroad engine on Oct. 17 during heavy fog at the south edge of Dike.
Mary E. Kerr, Hudson, and Roland Mitchell of Buckingham were united in marriage on Oct. 18.
Mr. & Mrs. Delmar Ritchey are moving to Calif. and Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Jans have rented the Ritchey residence.

A fire started in the fireplace destroying considerable flooring at the Grundy Golf Country Club clubhouse.
Vic Claussen, Dinsdale, suffered a fracture of his right arm, a fractured finger and the loss of a finger-end when his hand got caught in a corn elevator.
