Iowa House Representative Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) joined the Grundy County Rural Electric Cooperative in celebrating 75 years of service to its members and the community. The Grundy County REC provides dependable, affordable electric service to rural families, farms and industries in Grundy and surrounding counties.
Representative Grassley was instrumental this year in introducing and sponsoring legislation (HF 210) to help rural electric cooperatives repair and improve lines into the rural areas without unnecessary and expensive delays caused by over-reaching government regulations. This legislation had strong support (as HF 267) and was one of the first five bills signed into law by the governor.
Representative Grassley is dedicated to the success of the network of rural electric cooperatives throughout the state, and here at home. This celebration marks the hard work, cooperation and dedication of the communities and their citizens to work together to deliver sensible solutions for themselves and their neighbors.
