Two vehicle accident

There was two vehicle accident on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 7:05 a.m. at the intersection of county road T-29 and D-55, approximately 4 mile North of Beaman.

Driver #1: Steven Craig Humphrey, age 43, Oelwein, driving 1998 Ford Windstar Wagon, $2,000 damage (total).

Driver #2: William Joe Thompson, age 55, Newton, driving 2007 Kenworth semi tractor, $55,000 damage (total).

Humphrey who was ejected from his vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson was transported by Marshalltown ambulance to Marshalltown hospital with non life threatening injuries.

#1 Humphrey, was southbound on T-29.

#2 Thompson was eastbound on D-55 when he went through the stop sign striking the Humprey vehicle broadside.

Both vehicles entered the southeast corner of the intersection.

Traffic charges are pending.

The accident remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol. Assisting at the scene were Beaman and Conrad Fire and the Marshalltown Ambulance.
