Colfax Center Church hosts Mission Feast

Colfax Center Church Invites Family and Friends to Mission Feast!

Mission Feast on September 11th - the 10th anniversary of 9/11 - how appropriate!

Two guest speakers will encourage and excite all who attend the adult Sunday School class at 9:30 a.m.; the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m.; and the second worship service around 1:00 p.m., or as soon as is feasible with clean up from the meal (a very ample meal will be provided, for all who attend services).

Terry Clarke, a missionary with Mission To the World, has been serving in Australia since 2007, as head of the Sunshine Coast Theological College, 75 miles north of Brisbane. In addition to his work at the college, Clarke has opportunities to preach in local churches and teaches multi-denominational men's Bible studies. He and his wife Francine will recount experiences of their ministry at the morning service. The Clarkes are Missionaries of the Month for Colfax.

In the afternoon, local Iowa Army National Guard Chaplain Captain Chad Mackie will speak. Given the fact that this year's Mission Feast falls on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, it is especially appropriate to hear from a chaplain who has recently returned from Afghanistan. Captain Mackie served as Battalion Chaplain of the 2/34 Brigade Special Troops Battalion. He was responsible for providing religious support to 700 soldiers, ensuring their free exercise of religion, performing Protestant coverage and coordinating for Roman Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox, Muslim and other minority faiths. Captain Mackie will share a message from Scripture, as well as experiences in ministry in Afghanistan among the troops.

There will be Question & Answer periods following both presentations where those attending can receive personal replies to any questions they may have.

Colfax Center Church is located at 18935 K Ave, Holland, IA. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Larry Hoop at 319-824-5231.

Members have been planning for this special day for several months, in expectation of a full house that includes family and friends from the community. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
