Gladbrook-Reinbeck 9, North Tama 5
GLADBROOK - Paige Thompson struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings of relief work for the win as Gladbrook-Reinbeck topped North Tama 9-5 in non-conference play.
Thompson also went 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and four RBIs, while Lauren Bengen and Carrie Shouse both went 2-for-4 for the Rebels (7-4).
Whitney Schirm took the loss for North Tama, which led 5-1 before Thompson took the circle in relief of G-R starter Taylor Street.
Thompson two-hitter leads Rebels over Tigers
ELDORA - Paige Thompson had a two-hit shutout as the Gladbrook-Reinbeck softball team registered a 7-0 victory over South Hardin on Monday.
Thompson walked two and struck out three in the NICL West matchup.
Four Rebels finished the night with two hits apiece - Sonya Beichley, Kayla Holbach, Tessa Dinsdale and Carrie Shouse. One of Shouse's hits was a triple, while Holbach and Dinsdale both had a double. Emily Snider also had a double.
Beth Mildenhall had both of the hits for South Hardin.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck (9-6, 2-2) hosts BCLUW tonight in Gladbrook. South Hardin travels to AGWSR tonight.
