Gladbrook-Reinbeck 11, Hudson 10

REINBECK - Hudson's late rally came up one run short as Gladbrook-Reinbeck handed the Pirates their first loss of the season, 11-10, in a cross-NICL clash Friday night.

Alex Chilcote hit a two-run homer in the sixth and a grand slam in the seventh to help Hudson (6-1) rally.

G-R (5-1) squeezed a five-run sixth in between, getting leadoff hits from Blaine Groth and Jordan Rickert before Padraic McLean had an RBI single and winning pitcher Austin Smith (2-0) had a two-run double.

Brady Billerbeck was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, his second, for the Rebels. McLean finished 3-for-4.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck 11, Grundy Center 1, 5 innings

REINBECK - Brady Billerbeck struck out 10 in five innings to boost Gladbrook-Reinbeck to an 11-1, five-inning win over Grundy Center Thursday in NICL West play.

Grundy Center got just two hits, one of them being Danny Eisenman's solo homer in the top of the first.

Tanner Hulst went 3-for-3 at the plate for G-R and Padraic McLean was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs for the Rebels (4-1, 1-1). Nick Flamme added an RBI double and Colton Puls had an RBI single.

Danny Eisenman took the loss for Grundy Center.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts Hudson in a cross-NICL contest.
