REINBECK - Gladbrook-Reinbeck's defense locked down South Hardin Friday and held the Tigers scoreless for more than 6 minutes in the second quarter.
The Rebels used their 30-6 run from the 1-minute mark of the first quarter until halftime to put the NICL West contest out of reach.
Levi Petersen led Gladbrook-Reinbeck (11-7, 6-5) with 15 points. Colby Luethje added 12 points, while Jacob Smoldt had 11 points and seven rebounds. Brady Billerbeck chipped in five assists.
Andrew Stowe had a team-high 10 points for South Hardin (4-14, 3-8). Dayton Balvanz added nine points.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck 71, GMG 51
GARWIN - Gladbrook-Reinbeck steadily pulled away for a non-conference win at GMG, 71-51.
The Rebels (12-7) led by eight after the opening period and by 19 at the half, eventually taking a 29-point lead into the final quarter.
Logan Petersen led G-R with 19 points, Jacob Smoldt had 14, Parker Bolt added 10 while both Levi Petersen and Colby Luethje had nine.
Kyle Warren's game-high 21 points paced GMG (3-15) and Wade Barritt added 13 points. Both Wolverines had a team-high five rebounds.
