The Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys' basketball team let a late lead in regulation slip away and then lost the game in overtime, 75-66, to NU High on Saturday.
G-R (8-6) led by five with just a minute to play, but three turnovers and a pair of free throws from the Panthers' Kyle Denning with 2 seconds remaining forced the extra 4 minutes where NU High outscored the Rebels 15-6.
Denning finished with a game-high 25 and teammate Andrew Stone added 23 for the Class 1A No. 4 Panthers (13-2).
Colby Luethje scored a team-best 18 points for the Rebels, who visit Dike-New Hartford on Tuesday, and the senior also grabbed eight rebounds. Parker Bolt had 16 points and five assists before fouling out.
The Rebels also got 17 points from Jacob Smoldt and nine from Logan Petersen.
