Rebels escape from Tigers

The young Rebels traveled to Hubbard to take on the South Hardin Tigers on a cold and drifty day on Jan. 20, 2011.

The first quarter saw the Rebels jump out early to take a sizeable 16-4 lead to end the period. Second quarter action was slowed down a bit as the Tigers started to put some pressure on the Rebels. The score at the half time break saw the visiting Rebels with a 24-12 lead.

Starting in the third quarter, the host Tigers came out of their cage ready to play. Excitement was still in the gym following a very good eighth grade game won by the Rebels. At the end of the third period the Rebels held a 34-20 lead.

The fourth quarter was a very exciting one as the Tigers kept inching forward in the scoring column and the Rebels not able to find it. After being outscored 12-3 in the final period, the Rebels had enough in reserve to pull out a 37-32 win.

The following players scored for the Rebels: Brock Bystricky - 8 pts. Colton Dinsdale - 14 pts. Tyler Eiffler - 15 pts.

Rebels Defeat Cobras

On January 18, 2011, the 7th grade Rebels traveled to Union to take on the Cobras of BCLUW. Following a short history lesson of the Union-Whitten and Everly "cattlefeeders" 1968 Girls Championsip game, the Rebels were ready to take the court.

In the first quarter, the Rebels took a little time to get going as we had a 4-0 lead. The second quarter saw much improvement as we used our defense to force turnovers into baskets as we held a 18-3 lead at halftime. The second half started with the Rebels charging ou to a 30-7 edge to end the third period. The fourth quarter saw all players contributing on both ends of the court as the Rebels prevailed with a 46-14 win.

Finding the scoring column were the following Rebels: Jacob Mohlis - 4 pts. Cameron Murphy - 4 pts. Josh Cooley - 4 pts. Brock Bystricky - 6 pts. Colton Dinsdale - 6 pts. Tyler Eiffler - 18 pts. Jack Schuman - 4 pts.
