The Junior High Football teams showed great improvement over the course of the season. Both the 7th & 8th grade teams finished with 4-1 records. As a coaching staff, we focused more on the fundamentals of the game. The players did an excellent job of picking up the offence, defense, & special teams, giving us the luxury of practicing the skills of blocking and tackling on a more consistent basis. We were again rather fortunate with the weather we had, the teams played every game scheduled and lost only one practice due to the heat. This was a very enjoyable group of athletes to work with; they not only worked very hard, but did so with much enthusiasm and self discipline. We should expect great things from these young people, both on and off the field.
Opening the holes for the 8th grade this year were: Logan Phillips, Shye Johnston, Noah Ohrt, Riley Gilbert, Cameron Clark, Luke Holman, & Zach Pierce. The QB's: Brady Kuehl & Bennett Peterson did a nice job leading the offense. Jacob Peters, Camden Kickbush, Logan Flamme, Hunter McCalley, Noah Dietz, & Bennett Peterson all ran the ball very well. Austin Lott, Bradon Trepp, Bryce Ehlers, Brady Wagner, Matthew Van Hauen & Phillip Zimmerman did a great job of both blocking for our backs and catching the ball.
Opening the holes for the 7th grade this year were: Tyler Eiffler, Dalton Schwartz, Hunter Wegner, Carter Fogt, Bryce Clark, & Carter Moore. The QB: Jake Schuman did a nice job leading the offense. Colton Dinsdale, Cameron Murphy, Eric Stokes, & Kainen Hendricks all ran the ball very well. Brock Bystricky, Carter Murphy, Jake Mohlis, & Joshua Cooley all did a great job of both blocking for our backs and catching the ball.
Defensively, each and every one of these guys contributed. Throughout the entire fall, these guys displayed great skills and determination. They had excellent technique and had good knowledge of the game.
The coaching staff of John Bessman, and Todd Rickert really enjoyed working with each and every one of you.
