Kipp and Nancy Larsen of Gladbrook and Michael and Jennifer Schick of Waterloo, formerly of Reinbeck, are proud to announce the marriage of their children, Hayley Suzanne Larsen and Tyler Lynn Schick. Vows were exchanged on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 5:00 at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with Pastor Brian King officiating. Friend of the couple, Enrique Ochoa, gave the message.
Grandparents of the bride are Dale and Janice Larsen of Cedar Falls, and Marjorie and the late Paul Strunk of Clinton. The groom's grandparents are Carl and Peg Schick and Rolland and Phyllis Hummel all of Reinbeck.
The bride chose her sisters as Maids of Honor, Lindsay Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Chelsey Larsen, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bridesmaids were Linsey Brockman and Lindsay Eickstaedt, friends of the bride, from West Des Moines, and Lydia Schick, sister of the groom, from Waterloo. The bride's personal attendant was Calla Whipp from Des Moines.
Jordan Schick was his brother's Best Man. Groomsmen were friends of the groom Matthew Moore and Reed Dinsdale, both from Reinbeck, Jacob Schick, cousin of the groom from West Des Moines, and Justin Vieth, friend of the groom from Ames. Ushers for the couple were Kyle Gorres and Darin Schmidt, both of Cedar Falls.
From the balcony prior to the ceremony, the bride sang Panis Angelicus, by Cesar Franck, words by St. Thomas Aquinas, to her groom and guests. She was then escorted down the aisle by her father. Piper Carey, cousin of the bride from Marion, was the flower girl. The ring bearer was Kadyn Schick, nephew of the groom from Reinbeck.
Organist for the ceremony was William McGuire, Director of Music at Nazareth. Enrique Ochoa, friend of the couple, sang I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman.
The couple selected Julie and Elise Peterson, aunt and cousin of the groom from Reinbeck, as guest book and gift attendants. Host and hostesses for the couple were Brent and Jan Larsen, uncle and aunt of the bride from Houston, Texas, and Melvin and Melissa Sweerin, aunt and uncle of the groom from Waterloo.
Following the ceremony, a reception dinner and dance was held at Pipac Centre on the Lake, in Cedar Falls. The guests enjoyed an evening of dancing to Wagg.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Aruba and now make their home in West Des Moines.
The bride graduated from Drake University with double majors in Public Relations and Marketing. She is employed by Wells Fargo in Des Moines. The groom graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in History. He is a second lieutenant in the Iowa National Guard and is employed by Enterprise Rent-A- Car in Urbandale.
