GRUNDY CENTER - Grab your girlfriends and make a difference! Grundy Center is hosting the third annual Girls Night Out event on Thursday, October 14th from 4-7 p.m. downtown.
Attendees will not only find great specials at a variety of businesses, but will also find ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness. The evening will benefit a local organization that focuses on Breast Cancer in the Cedar Valley, the Beyond Pink TEAM.
The Beyond Pink TEAM is a program of the Cedar Valley Cancer Committee, a nonprofit organization made possible by the collaborative efforts of many health organizations, businesses and dedicated individuals throughout the area. Through support groups, social events, education, public forums, advocacy and offering free or reduced cost screenings, the group hopes to reach out to anyone needing more information about breast cancer screening, diagnosis or treatment.
Participating businesses include Dress Me, Frederick Furniture, Garden Gate, Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Johnny Rays, Manly Drug Store/As You Like It, Shabby Shack, Stylish Living, Subway, Video Place, and more. Several of these businesses will be featuring pink specials throughout the evening.
Also dotting the downtown will be home-based businesses including: Uppercase Living, Premier Design Jewelry, Creative Photos, Scentsy Candles, Mary Kay, and more. Grundy National Bank will be sampling a few recipes from their "Local Favorites" cookbook and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority will also be serving decadent appetizers and treats. You won't want to forget to take time to sip a few special wines from a few native Iowa wineries either.
Ladies will receive a free gift bag full of specials and educational materials as well as a "Jumble" game card for a chance to win one of five prizes. Pink balloons will also be on sale for a balloon release with all proceeds benefiting the Beyond Pink TEAM.
