Wallace W. Hoffmann of Reinbeck, formerly of Cedarburg, Wis. died April 28, 2010 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1916 in Wis., son of Emma (Klotz) and F. August Hoffmann. He graduated from Cedarburg High School. He married Eleanor Wiegert Aug. 17, 1946. She preceded him in death in April 2009. Wallace served in the 511th Parachute Infantry from 1941-1945, serving in the Pacific Theater. Wallace served the city of Cedarburg for 28 years as a patrolman and later police chief. He later worked as a Security Supervisor at St. Michael's Hospital.
Wallace was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Police Chief's Association and a member of American Legion Post 242 in Reinbeck.
He is survived by 3 children, Jim (Nancy) Hoffmann of Glendale, Ariz., Anne Campbell of River Falls, Wis. and Sharon (Dale) Wambold of Reinbeck; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Jenn) Hoffmann, Kara (David) Vowell, Dave (Angela) Wambold, Sarah (Jason Kerns) Wambold; and 2 great-grandchildren, Logan Vowell and Gwenna Rae Wambold.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother LeRoy and his sister Roma Allen.
Visitation will be Friday, May 14, 5-7 p.m. with services to follow at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, Wis. Internment with full military honors will be Sat. May 15 at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Zion Lutheran Church.
