Long Term Care first opened its doors at Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) in 1971. This 55-bed intermediate care facility cares for residents from the local communities who are in need of assistance with the daily activities of life.

Long Term Care provides a variety of services to meet health and personal care needs over an extended period of time. Long Term Care at GCMH offers many services to residents including 24 hour nursing care, housekeeping and laundry services, basic cable, daily activity programs, diversified spiritual services and care, specialized dietary service, social services and beautician and barber services. With onsite Lab, Radiology, Therapy Services, specialty clinics and Emergency Department, residents have easy access to health services.

Moving a loved one into Long Term Care is a big decision. GCMH Social Worker, Cathi Burnette, is available to talk through questions with families wondering if Long Term Care is the best option for their loved one. Cathi can be reached at GCMH at (319) 824-4129. For more information on Long Term Care, Cathy Hopkins, Long Term Care Director, can also be contacted at (319) 824-3212. Additional information can be found on the GCMH website,
