Marlys Mae Arnold passed away peacefully on February 5, 2010 at home in Byron Park where she lived for the past 8 years. Marlys was born near Reinbeck, Iowa, the daughter of Riley and Edna Kepler where she lived until 1961 when she and her husband moved to Placentia, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, George Dale Arnold, her four daughters: Lois Cottington, Beaumont, Texas; Doris Morris Broken, Broken Arrow, Okla; Nancy Boren and Darlene Sowar, Walnut Creek, Calif., eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She leaves behind one sister and two sons-in-law.

She was an active member of the Reinbeck United Methodist Church for 26 years, then an active member of the Placentia, Calif. United Methodist Church for 42 years. She loved to travel, was an avid golfer, a talented seamstress and quilt maker and photographer winning multiple awards in each of those areas.

Marlys was married to her husband Dale for 74 years and 8 months. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

When her husband, Dale, passes away their ashes will be returned to Iowa to be buried with family members in the Morrison Cemetery.
