Beulah Pricilla Emerson Samo born May 20, 1919, near Ames, Iowa. daughter of Glen Emerson and Effie Elenore Bates. During her school years, Beulah's parents farmed near Shipley, Iowa. There were two other children, a fraternal twin sister, Bernita and an older brother Virgil.

Beulah attended a rural consolidated school at Shipley. After graduation, Beulah's first job away from home was as a waitress in Ames. During this period she stayed at her grandmother Amanda Bates. Beulah's next employment led her to Des Moines where she worked at several occupations. Lyman came into her life in late October, 1945.

The couple was engaged and several months later Beulah and Lyman were married on Nov. 17, 1946 in Ames at the Church of Christ. In 1947 the couple started a Carmel Crisp store in Ames.

To this union a daughter, Paula was born.

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Bernita, brother Virgil, and survived by husband Lyman, daughter Paula Ann Kramer and her husband, Dan, 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Weitner and her husband Sean and Eric Kramer.

Beulah passed away on Feb. 10, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Croix Falls. Mass of Christian burial was on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Taylor Falls, Minn. Officiating was Father Daniel Bodin, Spring interment at Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, Iowa.
