Doris W. Dinsdale was born November 20, 1914 at Dysart, Iowa, the daughter of Verl and Lena Gregg Hite. She received her education in Dysart and later moved to Traer where she graduated from Traer High School. On August 31, 1933 she was united in marriage to J. Earl Dinsdale at New Hampton, Iowa. Doris and Earl made their home farming all their married life farming near Dinsdale.
Following Earl's death on August 5, 1996 she remained on the farm. For the past 10 years she has made her home in the Traer community and more recently has been a resident of the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.
Doris's death came at the care center on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the age of 94 years. Doris loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed their years of wintering in Texas and spending time fishing in Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Norman and Bill, and one sister Frances Clark. She is survived by one son Donald and his wife Connie of Reinbeck, IA, two daughters; Carole (Bernard) Franken of Allison, IA and Phyllis (Rolly) Hummel of Reinbeck, IA, 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and one brother Jack Hite of Hammond, LA.
Visitation was held at Overton Funeral Home in Traer on Tuesday, November 17. Service was held at Amity Presbyterian Church in rural Reinbeck at 11 AM on November 18. Burial was at 10 AM November 18 at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer.
