G-R High School presented "Grease" on Nov. 17-18.
The City Election was held Tuesday, Nov. 7. Voter participation in Reinbeck was 235 votes casted.
Mary Bouska celebrated her 80th birthday on Nov. 5.
Debra Hite and Lee Rhoades were united in marriage on Oct. 14 in Grundy Center.
Denise Volbruck and Grant Schildroth were united in marriage on Sept. 9 in Waterloo.
Anna Storjohann, 79, Yuma, AZ, a former Reinbeck woman, died Nov. 2 following surgery.
Edith Weseman, 61, Grundy Center, died Nov. 2 of a sudden illness.
Karola Jacobs, 86, a former Reinbeck woman, died Nov. 3.
Private Scott P. Schafer and Private Trevor Groen have completed training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, GA.

Members of the Reinbeck Fire Dept. demonstrated the uses of their new hydraulic "Jaws of Life" rescue tool on Monday night.
Jane Hasek, adult health occupations coordinator for Hawkeye Institute of Technology, received an emeritus award in basic cardiac life support from the Iowa Affiliate of the American Heart Association.
Evidence of this year's bumper corn crop can be seen at the Farmers Cooperative of Dike where corn is being piled on the ground because they have no more storage room.
Monday of this week brought the first measurable snow to north central Iowa.
The Board of Directors of Security Savings Bank of Marshalltown and State Bank of Gladbrook have agreed to a plan of merger. The State Bank will become the Gladbrook office of Security Savings Bank which will be the surviving corporation.
Rev. John Syster, minister of the United Church of Christ, will leave Reinbeck in early January to assume the position of Associate Minister with the Seabreeze United Church of Dayton Beach, FL.
Kathryn Koobs is one of the hostages being held by the Iranian government. David Voigts, son of Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Voigts, is married to Annabeth Koobs, sister of Kathryn.
Reinbeck Rams closed the 1979 season with 4-5 season record and a 3-4 Big Iowa Conference record.
Ram wrestlers began practice this past Monday in preparation for the season opener Nov. 28, against LaPorte City. Thirty-two young men have made the commitment to pay the price it takes to be a champion.

Clarence W. Claussen, 64, passed away on Nov. 8th.
Kendall Harms, 10, narrowly escaped fatal injury in a hunting accident on his parents farm last Saturday. His 410 shotgun fired as he climbed into a pickup, striking him in the left arm.
Judith Ann Benson and Kenneth Knapp exchanged marriage vows on Oct. 25.
Officers elected to serve the Reinbeck Commerical Club for the 1970 year are: Helga Staker, President; Jeff Moser, Secretary; Robert Rickert, Treasurer and George Garlits, Vice-President.
Anna Kroeger, 69, died Nov. 5 at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington.
Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Lockwood are parents of a son born Nov. 4.
Beth Feller and Robert W. Thompson recently exchanged marriage vows.
Veterans Day, Nov. 11 was observed in Reinbeck with a special program at the Reinbeck Elementary School.

Iowa's 34th pheasant season will begin on Nov. 14.
Reinbeck's Union Congregational Christian Church will hold a dedication service for the new Education Building on Sunday, Nov. 15th.
Mail delivery service to begin on January 9. Post Office advised all residents wishing mail service must have boxes installed on the front of their house.
Loyd Plaehn has sold the last of his new homes in Plaehn's Addition to Mr. & Mrs. Robert Voigt for $13,000.
Carol A. Greiner & Wayne Sedlmayr were married on Nov. 7.
Mr. & Mrs. R.P. Slessor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 8.

Mrs. John Campbell, 79, died at her home on Nov. 9.
Carl Maas, 48, died of a coronary thrombosis on Nov. 8.
Grundy Co. Fair Board settles free car deal mix-up with two cars. Fred R. Newton and Harry Rasmussen each get a new car, by paying the difference between $1,000 and the cost of the car of their choice.
Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Paulsen are parents of a daughter born Nov. 7.
Mr. & Mrs. Francis Babinat are parents of a son born Nov. 4.
Donna Schmidt became the bride of Lester Venenga on Nov. 6th.
A proposal for purchasing and maintaining a fire truck in Lincoln Twp., Tama Co., lost by one vote in a special election held last week in Lincoln.

Dr. C.W. Trussell, 80, early day local dentist, died Nov. 5 at his home in Rockwell.
Hazel Wallace and S.A. Nielsen of Waterloo were united in marriage on Nov. 4.
Richard Hargan is recovering from a stomach operation, over a dozen good neighbors finished husking Hargan's remaining 15 acres of corn.
Hoeg & Ames, well drillers of Lincoln, have finished a well 412 feet deep for Joe Yuska who occupies the Chas. Boothroyd farm. The well cost about $625.
To comply with state laws, the I.O.O.F. Lodge has placed a new stairway at the rear of the lodge rooms.
Reinbeck stores to be open as usual on Nov. 11, while the post office and Lincoln Savings Bank will be closed.
Clara Stirler, who has been substitute operator at the Reinbeck telephone exchange, will become night operator to replace Hazel Wallace who has resigned.
The John Bakens farm, southeast of town, which is occupied by Elmer Lorenzen, lost a machine shed full of machinery and a quantity of hay in a fire on Nov. 5.
W.H. (Jack) Harris and son, William, have leased the Stewart Bldg. on Main St. recently vacated by Verna's Beauty Salon, and have redecorated and remodeled the interior for a photo studio.
Chris Barfels, 76, died at his home on Nov. 4.
Charlotte Posekany of Dike, has purchased the Hilda Pruisner Beauty Shop and will re-open as Posey's Beauty Shop.
Pheasant season will open Nov. 12, 13, 14, in only 40 Iowa counties, including Grundy and Black Hawk.

Thomas Hayes, 93, Tama County pioneer settler, died Nov. 7.
W.V. Sibert, well known former Reinbeck man, has purchased a laundry business at Battle Creek, MI. Sibert sold his laundry business in Waterloo to Mid-Continent Laundries, Inc.
The Reinbeck Bakery has on display a junior Packard automobile which they will give to a boy or girl in a promotion to distribute their products in a wider area.
Harmony Society will stage their regular Thanksgiving Day party/dance at Harmony Hall, south of town, on Nov. 28. Count Hussey and his Russell Lamson Orchestra will play.
Lillian Squires and Frank Hooper of Zeneta were married on Nov. 10th.
Vesta Faulkner of Hudson, and Chester M. Olsen of Zeneta, were married Nov. 9.
The annual game between Reinbeck and Grundy Center ended in a scoreless tie.
Mr. & Mrs. John Dahms of Lincoln are parents of a girl born this past week.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Burr are parents of a daughter born Nov. 11.
Theo Bucka has rented the Mrs. Margaret Gardiner residence property in west Reinbeck, recently vacated by the Paul Strickland family.

The Christy Hotel location of RGC Printing, is leased to C.O. Gear of Marshalltown after the Henry Collins family left town.
Elizabeth Lundt born in 1849 in Germany passed away Oct. 22, 1919. She married Carsten Lundt in 1876. She had seven children.
A specialist from Iowa City was called in to consult of the Mildred Hollis typus case in Hudson last week.
Mr. & Mrs. Geo J. Schildroth are parents of a son.
Leo Cumming received his discharge from the Marine Corp and returned home this week.
