Martha E. Davis Wrage McKenna, 93, of Waterloo and formerly of rural Hudson, was born on January 30, 1916 in Guilford, MO; the daughter of Robert Logan and Onetta Alice McCoppin Davis. She attended school in Hudson and graduated in 1934. On January 6, 1937 she married Harry Wrage. On February 3, 1944 Harry died. Martha then married John McKenna on June 24, 1947. Martha spent her life caring for her family and helping John with their farming operation south of Hudson. John died on April 10, 2005.
Martha's hobbies included gardening and tending to her flowers, sewing, baking and cooking. Martha was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She lived at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo and died October 19, 2009 of natural causes.
Martha is preceded in death by an infant son, Duane McKenna; four brothers, William, Maynard, J.D. and Curtis Davis and two sisters, Helen Koht and Eva Fern Davis. Martha is survived by three daughters, Lovelle (James) Pedersen of Hudson, Elaine (Gale) Boylan of Jacksonville, FL and Alice (Richard) Holloway of Blanchard, OK; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rowena Wilson of Merced, CA and a brother-in-law, Rodney Koht of Tempe, AZ.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:30 AM with burial at Blessing Cemetery, Hudson. As a demonstration of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or the building fund at Don Bosco.
