Janet Elaine (Long) Wagoner, 81, of rural Garwin, died at her home on September 12. Visitation will be 0ne hour prior to the service. Service is Friday, October 30, 10:30 AM at the Garwin United Methodist Church. Buriel at Inurnment at the LeGrand Friends Cemetery, LeGrand, IA. She was born in Marshalltown on July 20, 1928; the daughter of John and Maude (Shipley) Long. Janet attended school in the Dunbar-Le Grand area and graduated from Le Grand High School in 1946. She married Richard Dean Wagoner on September 19, 1947 at the Le Grand Friends Church.

Janet was a homemaker caring for her husband and children. She managed a bakery in Tama from 1971 to 1976. Following the bakery, she became a cook for the Garwin School in 1976 until her retirement in 1990.

Janet was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark Richard; her parents; three sisters, Ferne Gummert, Betty Rhodes, Joyce Byers and two brothers, Paul Long and Bob Long. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Wagoner; two sons, Ted Wagoner and his wife, Pam, of Kingman, AZ and Tim Wagoner and his wife, Glenda, of Nashville, TN; daughter Teresa Jane Wagoner of Pleasant Hill, IA; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two brothers, Jack Long of Marshalltown, IA and Frank Long of Boone, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
