ALLEN HOSPITAL TO PROVIDE FREE COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENINGS

WATERLOO, Iowa--Allen Hospital Digestive Diseases Center, will provide free colorectal cancer screenings for low-income, uninsured or underinsured residents of Iowa age 50 and older who are not on Medicare.

For more information, including eligibility qualifications and steps to apply for a screening, call Allen Hospital Digestive Diseases Center at 319-235-3823.

The screenings are made possible through a $96,000 grant from the Iowa Get Screened program of the Iowa Department of Public Health. This is the second year that screenings have been provided under this program.

Allen Digestive Diseases is partnering with several healthcare providers to offer the free colorectal cancer screenings. Applications for the free screenings and additional information are also available at the following locations: People's Community Health Clinic, Waterloo and Clarksville; Community Memorial Hospital, Sumner; Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center; and the American Cancer Society.
