To the Editor,
The Lynk Family Benefit on June 7 in Hudson was a huge success with financial donations still arriving. Approximately 700 people were in attendance from all around the area. Katy Lynk, who was in a serious car accident in December, 2008, was able to be at the Benefit which added to the excitement of the event.
Members of the Hudson United Methodist Church, with a committee of the Chittendens, Ricks, Schulzes, and Tolanders, wish to thank everyone who donated to the silent, pie, and live auctions, the bars for the lunch and all financial donations. Thank you for major donations from Auctioneer Dave Lindley, Evansdale; the Hudson Community Schools and Supt. Roark Horn for building use; Dennis and DJ Holbach, Hudson, Randall's Stop 'N Shop for food items and labor for grilling; Dr. Charles LaTendresse, Grundy Center, for all the pork; Cedar Falls HyVee for HyVee pop; Lonestar for hot dogs and buns; Reinbeck's Parkview Manor for chips; and anonymous donors for pop, water, buns and coleslaw. Thank you to this newspaper and surrounding newspapers and churches, radio stations, and Ron Steele on KWWL who publicized the event.
