Ray Watson, 83, died Sunday, May 24, in Minnetonka, Minnesota of cancer.
He was born March 6, 1926 in Reinbeck to Ella Willer and Elwood Watson. He graduated from Reinbeck High School and then entered the U.S. Navy where he served in the South Pacific.
He married Betty Fenstermaker in Waterloo on May 28, 1953.
He was an Air Traffic Controller for 30 years. He retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1986.
He is survived by a daughter, Gaylene (Arvid) Mortenson, Winona, MN, a son, Jeff Watson, Minnetonka, MN, a brother Jonsey (Martha) Watson of Reinbeck, and a sister, Shirley Fulkerson of Reinbeck. Also, two grandsons, a grand daughter and a great grand daughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, a grandson, three brothers, Hans Watson, Ross Watson, and Mike Watson, and a sister, Edythe
Burial was Friday, May 29, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Mendota, MN.
