Soldiers to Help with Crowd and Traffic Control at Inaugural Events
Congressman Leonard Boswell visited Iowa National Guard soldiers and airmen who have been deployed to Washington to assist with inaugural events. The soldiers, who are staying at the Gage Eckington Elementary School in Northwest D.C., will support the U.S. Department of Transportation in crowd and traffic control. Approximately 1100 Iowa soldiers have arrived and will be in D.C. till around January 21st.
"From the leadership all the way down to the soldiers carrying out the Iowa National Guard's mission, I'm always extremely impressed with their readiness and preparedness," said Boswell. "I was honored that they took a few minutes today to show me around, and brief me on their duties while they are in Washington."
